2011 Summary & Tournament Photos
Just two weeks before the eighth annual tournament was held, concerns were raised that sufficient teams for both groups would not be registered. With some last minute coaxing, however, some new teams materialized and it would be fair to say that this year's tournament will go down as one of the more competitive of them all.

The one-day format with prize money for the winning teams certainly contributed to the interest of the teams and their players and this formula is unlikely to change in the future.

The winning team in the Men's Open Division was Flagstaff, a first-time winner after competing in all seven previous tournaments. Flagstaff demonstrated in the qualifying rounds just how powerful a team they were, and continued on with this convincing form in their Semi against the always competitive Sikh Temple (champions twice before), and then in the thrilling Final against another previous two-time winner, DPI.The level of play by all teams was outstanding.

The other Semi-finalist in this year's tournament was SFU.

In the Co-Ed Division, the Westside Ballers stretched their unbeaten record to eight by overcoming The Dead Rats in the Final. This year was even more competitive than last year with some teams not seen before competing at a very high level. The WSB team prevailed once again, however, beating a highly skillful and committed opponent. Can this team be beaten? That is the question!! The two other semi-finalists were Kits Blue Demons and Team Ramrod.

The recipient this year of the Kits memorial scholarship award was Ethan Senger. The SFU award recipient was Anthony DiNicolo. Both Ethan and Anthony were acknowledged at the closing ceremonies as outstanding individuals, great athletes and truly worthy of the scholarship awards.

Raj Naidu, Ronale Sanjay's father, in presenting the trophies, once again expressed his gratitude to all those who had participated in the highly successful event. First and foremost, he thanked all the players from both divisions for their enthusiastic participation. Raj also thanked the organizers of the event, as well as everyone who had volunteered to help make the tournament such a success. It is his hope, as is the hope of all those who loved his gifted son, that this annual tournament will carry the memory of Ronale Sanjay long into the future.
